Berkeley’s first moveable feast came to the North Berkeley / Gourmet Ghetto neighborhood today, and it was a lot of fun!

Saw lots of people we knew, had some great food, and a great time was had by all!.

Design & Architecture  buffs …. be on the lookout for a Raymond Loewy Designed structure about mid way through the video.

I think this will be boon for North Berkeley for many reasons … it brings people out, attracts visitors from other areas, and tonight’s opening night lines were sooooo long that many people will come for the event, and then eat at one of the wonderful neighborhood restaurants such as Saul’s Deli, Cesar, Cheese Board, Guerilla Cafe, Poulet or Cafe Gratitude..

Calibration Data: “sooooo long” means Carol was on one line for 90 minutes!

We’ll be back for the fun of it … and even for the food of it. I realized  that 10-15 minutes is about my personal wait time limit, and expect that with more trucks the lines will be shorter.  It was billed as a “soft launch” … which went well with great soft taco we had at Brass Knuckle.  Delicious but not very photogenic, so I didn’t take a photo.

This will be a recurring event – every Wednesday night (probably 5 – 9 pm, but check to be sure)

Big thanks to the North Shattuck Association http://www.northshattuckassociation.org or http://gourmetghetto.org and to BerkeleySide http://www.berkeleyside.com our favorite hyper-local Berkeley news, event, and information site  where I first read about it.
